Lessons from the book "Love Letters from God" by Glenys Nellist
This letter was inspired by Ellen F., Bethany S., Jimmy M., and Jacob M.'s responses to
“Love Letters from God,” a book that was read during our On-Line Remote Class called Book Club. The prayer was compiled by Ingrid Mora-Smith using ideas, words, and comments shared by participants during the reading of the book.
Thank you for sending your son Jesus to die for my sins; He is so good to me.
If I cry, I know he is with me and gives me peace, strength and love.
If I am scared, he will let me know that He is right there with me, to protect me.
If I feel lonely, he reminds me that He will be with me wherever I go.
I have learned that Jesus is powerful, and that He will do anything for me. Like the little lamb that got lost, He left all the other sheep and went to look for her; Jesus never stopped until He found her. I know if I get lost, He will find me.
I also learned that Jesus is a God of order. He will tell the storms and the big waves to calm down and to be peaceful. He will help me to find peace in times of trouble.
When I pray, I know you hear me in heaven and remind me who Jesus is. Then I feel brave and strong to face anything the day will bring me because I know I am not alone! Jesus’s love surrounds me, and His love fills me.
