CPS and SGE Programs Continue Their Momentum into the New Year

CPS: Lighthouse participants continue to volunteer with four local nonprofit organizations on a weekly basis, as well as two additional nonprofits on an as-needed basis. These organizations include Ephrata Area Social Services, Bible Centered Ministries (BCM) International, Unto, Country Gift & Thrift, Dynamis World Ministries, and Woodcrest Retreat. In addition to volunteering, Lighthouse participants also continue to practice their socialization skills through community outings all around Lancaster County. While participants enjoy visiting popular spots including Park City Mall, Wegman’s, That Fish/Pet Place, Target and Kitchen Kettle Village (see photo below of Rachel S.), they have also started exploring new locations, such as Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown (see 2nd photo below of Rocky L.) and Roots Market in Manheim. Twenty-six participants are currently receiving CPS services through volunteering and engaging in community outings.

SGE: Lighthouse currently has 20 participants working on mobile work crews at several businesses in the area through the Small Group Employment program. We are happy to share that in addition to working with Levi’s Building Components, Salem E&R Church, CrossFit Uncompromised, Eastern Lancaster County Library, and Kauffman’s Fruit Farm, Lighthouse has partnered with Garden Spot Foods. At Garden Spot Foods, participants have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment on an assembly line where they weigh, package, and label a variety of food items.
